Speaking of Jackson, here's a photo of him.
We made today's advertisement from the Photo Department which was placed at each passenger stateroom for outside photos being taken this evening.
We enjoyed another fun night on board Crystal Serenity.
We began the evening with a pre-dinner drink at the Avenue Saloon with dear friends John and Linda.
While we were at the Saloon, a few other couples were there and each one brought with the a bottle and then they did wine tasting. That was the first time we saw something like that at one of the lounges, and actually thought it was a good idea as likely they had some leftover wine bottles from wine they might have bought over the course of the World Cruise.
Afterwards, we had dinner at the Crystal Dining Room where we were taken excellent care of by the outstanding wait staff team of Head Waiter Augusto, Senior Waiter Ayhan, Waiter Jan and Sommelier Ivanna.
We both began our meal with Keith's Standing Order Salads.
Keith had the Salmon for his entree.
Anne Marie had the Scallops for her entree.
For dessert, we both had melon as there are no berries on board the ship right now. This is due to where we have been sailing for the past several days where berries were not available in port. Since berries do not have a long shelf life, those that are brought on in at the ports of embarkation do not last the entire voyage and wherever possible, additional fruit is brought on board at selected ports but the ports we have been sailing were not optimal for this. Tomorrow, when we are in Barbados they will bring on selected fruit, vegetables and the salad items to have a sufficient quantity on board until we arrive to Miami.
We both slept very well as we are now sailing towards Barbados.
To no surprise, Keith was up first and enjoyed a nice workout at the Fitness Center. It started though slowly as we are sure that many of you go through when exercising regularly. When Keith first got on the Elliptical Machine and started to move his legs they felt a little like "mush" and after a few minutes Keith was not sure how long he could go. However, thankfully he found a very interesting lecture to watch and that made the time go fast and before he knew he had forgotten about his legs and in time they felt stronger so he ended up with another long workout. Maybe it was mind over matter. LOL.
After his workout, he enjoyed coffee at the Lido Cafe as he read and wrote.
Afterwards, it was Anne Marie's turn and she walked for one hour before we had breakfast in our room while we watched the Daily Morning Show with Gary and Stacey. They had the Knitting Instructor on the show today and she spoke about all of the items that the women have been knitting. Some of them have included items that are have and will be donated to charities including an orphanage in Africa. Anne Marie made several of the squares that are part of blankets. Anne Marie is in one of the photos that was taken yesterday at Knitting by Stacey and shown on the show and we have included a photo of one of the Blankets.
The Knitting Instructor is on the left.
As today is a sea day there was lots on the schedule and even more since there are only two more sea days before World Cruise 2015 ends in Miami.
In addition to the typical activities there was also a Grand Gala Buffet featuring an array of culinary creations that the outstanding galley team put together along with all of the hard work by others including the Crystal Dining Room Head Waiters and Senior Waiters and Waiters. Keith took photos while the food was still being put out on the tables. The items are truly a work of art.
On top of this, today was the Graduation for those who took the EverythingApple college level course that was offered throughout the World Cruise. In fact, 57 different activities were on the schedule today and that didn't even include eating (that can be many activities), and others such as Paddle Tennis, Swimming and other related activities.
There were three lectures:
Tom Macan spoke about Britain's Caribbean Territories.
Ken Rees spoke about Barbados and Saint Thomas. As usual, he spoke about the history of each island from the days of Nelson, Sugar and Slave Trade and from the Colonial day to Independence and also spoke about what one might want to see during our stops at each of these Islands.
Cheri Steinkellner who has written for television and movies spoke about comedy, creativity and collaboration.
During the morning, Anne Marie attended Gentle Yoga and she also went to the Knitting Class. Keith watched one of the Lectures and he played Paddle Tennis.
We had lunch at the Lido Cafe and we had our usual salad entrees that we make for ourselves.
In the afternoon, Anne Marie walked for an hour and Keith played Paddle Tennis for a couple of hours. It was warm outside but there was a nice breeze so it didn't feel as hot as it might have been without a breeze.
Later, Keith got together with dear friend Bob and a couple of other guests, while Anne Marie worked on her knitting.
This evening we will dine at Tastes with two friends.
TODAY'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY.....
