DAY 130 CRUISING AT SEA & DAY 122 ON CRYSTAL SERENITY

Additional photos from the last segment of the World Cruise

Before dinner, we enjoyed a nice sunset from our room.

We decided to have dinner in our room last evening so we could take it easy.  When you are sailing for along time, sometimes it is a nice change to have a leisurely dinner in the room.

We began our meals with salad.

Anne Marie had a salad from the Crystal Dining Room which was a Heart of Butter Lettuce Salad which was accompanied with Apple-Celery Salad, Dried Apricot and Glazed Walnuts.

Keith had his standing order salad from the Dining Room of Butter Lettuce, Mushrooms and Tomatoes.

We followed this with Pizza.

For dessert, we had Popcorn.

Butler Rao took care of everything and we had a fun and relaxing evening.

We slept very well last evening.  The seas were relatively calm and we were both tired.

Today, was the second of three consecutive sea days as we sail to our next port of call in Brazil.

Keith passed on his early exercise this morning to get some additional rest.  When we woke he did some laundry as later this evening it will not be possible to do laundry until we are out of the Brazilian Waters.  This relates to the inability of the ship to make new water as we sail these waters.  This was also the case when we sailed in this area in 2013.  Afterwards, he did go to the Lido Cafe for coffee and to read.

Anne Marie walked in the morning before we had breakfast in our room.  Keith did go to the Fitness Center for a short workout.

As usual, we watched the Daily Morning Show with Gary and Stacey while we ate our breakfast.  Shore Excursion Manager spoke about the upcoming ports of call in Brazil and in Devil's Island.  At the next port of call because of the need to have the shore excursions back on the ship on time, those on the shore excursions will have first priority for the Tender Service.

Keith attended another indoor cycling class later in the morning and today's class was taught by Fitness Director Leanne. Most of the regulars attended the class.

While Keith was spinning, Anne Marie was attending the World Cruise Exclusive "Behind The Scenes".  This is one of those events that is a tradition for most World Cruises where those taking the full World Cruise get the opportunity to visit the decks that are below the passenger levels to get that behind the scenes tour of the areas that most guests do not get to see.  Anne Marie participated in this event.

Band Leader Raphael escorted the group that Anne Marie was with which was about 12 people.

On top of all of this there were three lectures given today which we did not see live, but watched them when they were being rebroadcast on some of the Crystal Television Stations.  The lecturers and their topics included:

David Davenport spoke about the challenges of stopping pirates on the high seas.

Tom Macon spoke about Brazil and the colony that turned into an empire.

Rob Warne spoke about the Northeast Region of Brazil and how it used to be one of the most prosperous regions of the New World, yet today it now has pocked of poverty, making this area one of the most depressed pockets of poverty in Latin America.

Keith also played Paddle Tennis after his Spin Class.

At Noon, as we do on most days, we made our way to the Lido Cafe. Even though today was a themed Asian Brunch, we  stuck with our Salad Entrees but did have salmon with it that was cooked Asian Style.

During the afternoon, we not only watched the lectures that we had missed live, but Anne Marie walked for an hour and Keith worked out at the Fitness Center.  Since it had rained, Keith could not play Paddle Tennis.  Keith also met up with dear friend Bob and Anne Marie worked on her knitting.

This evening we will have dinner with two friends who we first met on the 2012 World Cruise.
