Rocking On-Board Crystal Serenity

Last evening there was a change of entertainment on the schedule from the original schedule so we made changes to our dinner plans.

For the second consecutive night, the plan was to show the Curtain Call Production Show.  However, due to safety reasons this was not possible as the ship was moving around too much which would make it unsafe for dancing.

Instead, the Beatles Celebration Group was moved up one night to 7:00 PM for late dining and 8:45 PM for early dining.  Since we enjoy not only the music and song of The Beatles but also really enjoy the Beatles Celebration Group, we adjusted dinner plans accordingly so we could attend both performances.

Because we wanted to see both of the shows, we had dinner in our room.  We kept it simple having salad and turkey club sandwiches.  We then went to the showroom early so we could get a front row seat which we did. We not only attended the 7:00 PM show, but the 8:45 PM show as well.  Do we love the Beatles?  Yes, we do.  

This show not only featured the four lads from Liverpool, but also the Galaxy Orchestra and the Astoria Strings Quartet.  Whereas the show from the other evening focuse on songs sang by The Beatles from 1962 until they performed their last live concert, the songs performed last night included several that were not performed live, but recorded in the studio.  

The show included 13 musicians.

There were moments during the show where the audience was asked to sing which we did.  For the encore, it was mentioned that we could stand up and dance and that is precisely what we did. Like a high school dance where someone needs to dance first, we stood up first and before we knew it many people were standing and dancing as we did.  

The show was fabulous and one that we will remember for the rest of our lives.  For us, we have so many memories of The Beatles and their impact on our culture and the music we grew up with.  Hopefully, many generations which follow us, will enjoy the music of the Beatles as much as we do/have.

We slept very well last evening and we were rocked to sleep by the motion of the ship.

Keith was going to sleep a bit later, but ended up waking up early and enjoyed another workout at the Fitness Center.  The seas were still somewhat rough so being careful is key while walking around the ship, including up and down stairs.  

Afterwards, it was back to the Lido Cafe for coffee and to read and to write.  Anne Marie walked for a short time as we were having breakfast earlier than usual since Keith had an 8:00 AM indoor cycling class.

Keith attended the cycling class and Anne Marie finished up where walk.  Fitness Director, Leanne, taught the class and we all worked so very hard.  As they say, we are spinning around the world.

At his 9:00 AM talk from the bridge, Captain Giske said that the current weather would remain about the same for the next day.  If that is the case, since things have calmed down quite a bit from last evening, it will make it much easier getting around the ship.

Afterwards, Anne Marie went to Yoga and later in the morning she went to the Knitting Class.  Keith also managed to play Paddle Tennis.  It was not as windy as the past few days and there were enough people playing that for most of the time we had both courts in use.

Once again, there were three very interesting and informative lectures on today's program.  This included:

Ken Rees who spoke about the history of Buenos Aires.  The title of his presentation was called "Don't Cry For Me."  Buenos Aires - The City of Evita.

Next up was Ambassador Tony Leon who spoke about the successes and failure of Argentina.  The title of his talk was just the opposite of Ken's as it was titled "Do Cry for Thee, Argentina".

Sticking to the theme of where we are sailing to, Sir Michael Rose spoke about the Falkland Islands War and went into detail on how the British succeeded in recapturing the Falkland Islands from Argentina.

We had lunch at the Lido Cafe and made our usual Salad Entree.

In the afternoon, Keith played Paddle Tennis and Anne Marie walked for quite along time before she worked on her knitting projects.

Later in the afternoon, Keith met up with dear Friend Bob and one other guest.

This evening we will be dining at Silk Road with two of our cruising friends.  We will post all about that tomorrow.
