Enjoying dinner at Silk Road with Crew Officer, Nina, and IT Officer, Steven. They were both married in January of this year.
These are some additional photos from our wine tour from yesterday. The scenery for most of our drive to and from the valley's was gorgeous as was the scenery at each valley and the drive between the three valley's.
We wanted to wish those of you who celebrate Passover a very Happy Passover. A Passover Seder was held on board Crystal Serenity last evening for those of the Jewish Faith.
We slept very well last evening, as the Crystal Serenity remained docked in Cape Town.
Once again, Keith was up first and enjoyed a workout at the Fitness Center. He then went to the Lido Cafe for Coffee and to read and to write.
After Anne Marie woke, she walked inside the ship until it was time for us to have breakfast thanks to Rao. While Anne Marie walked, Keith ran outside on the Promenade Deck as all Elliptical Machines were in-use. A little while later he checked the Fitness Center and was able to get an elliptical machine so he worked out there. While working out he spoke with two others who were working out about what they had each done the past couple of days. A fellow guest and Paddle Tennis player who Keith played with last year and also on the Holiday Cruise and then on the first segment of the World Cruise (they couldn't stay on for the January 4 cruise as no rooms were available) stopped by to say hello to Keith so it will be fun to play Paddle Tennis with Ray over the next segment of the World Cruise.
We had our usual simple breakfast. Given all of the formalities of today which we will discuss later, we stayed close to Serenity today and went over the Victoria and Alfred area which is relatively close to the ship. We always enjoy this area as we find it very upbeat and we enjoy the scenery and just walking around this area with lots of stores, restaurants and other things to do.
Mother Nature could not make up her mind. The skies went from cloudy, partly cloudy to sunny and it drizzled and then cleared up and then drizzled and then cleared up multiple times.
After a few hours we headed back to Serenity. We had lunch on board the ship and had our usual salad entree.
Each guest and crew member had to have a mandatory face-to-face inspection before we departed South Africa today. We needed to go to this inspection between Noon and 1:30 PM with our passports and completed South African Departure Card. This is one of the reasons why we didn't stray to far from Serenity today.
As we were waiting on line, Keith turned around and around 10 people back he saw Karl who plays Paul McCartney in the Beatles Celebration Group who we saw on last year's World Cruise and are back for part of this World Cruise Segment. Keith has kept up with Karl from time to time since then and stopped by to say hello. Karl introduced Keith to two members who weren't on board last year and Keith also knew the person who plays John Lennon. These are photos of Keith with Karl taken last year as well as a photo when Karl was performing as Paul McCartney last year as well.
The second reason is that we had to attend a mandatory emergency muster drill (eg., lifeboat drill) at 3:00 PM today. This was mandatory for all guests regardless of when you boarded Serenity since this is a new month and they try to get everyone to attend a drill monthly.
This evening we will be dining at the Crystal Dining Room.
