Last evening, The Crystal Dining Room, Crystal Plaza and the Galaxy Showroom were transformed to take us back in time to the era of Marilyn Monroe and for us it was one of those wow evenings on board Crystal Serenity.
The Dining Room was decorated on the outside and the inside.
The dining room was all spruced up with ribbons and beautiful flower arrangements. It had the look of a wedding.

The Crystal Dining Room featured a very special menu including a special menu featuring selected cuisine that Marilyn Monroe liked to have.
There was also a separate Modern Cuisine menu for those wishing to have other cuisine.

There were two sets of menus. One was the Modern Cuisine and the other menu was the Bombshell menu.
We began our meal with Marilyn's Favorite which was an appetizer of Lobster & Asparagus Cocktail with Confit Tomato and Truffle Abolli. It was delicious.
For our next course we both had Keith's Standing Order Salads.
For our next course we had A Taste Of Champagne Entree which was not only Chilean Seabass but it was accompanied with Poached Oyster and Mushroom in a Champagne Cream Sauce and Chive Potatoes. This was an amazing entree which was very tasty.
We also had blueberries for our dessert and Anne Marie tried some of the Incurably Romantic Dessert which was a Mocha & Chocolate Gataue. It included Mocha Cream, Valrhona Chocolate Mousse, Cognac Truffle & Homemade Pistachio Ice Cream. OK, there were some calories involved but it was also delicious.
The entire dinner was a wow. We congratulate the Food & Beverage Department for creating an absolutely wonderful menu.
After dinner a special performance which was developed on board the ship by the very talented Crystal entertainment team was performed. The event was appropriately called, Bombshell, A tribute to the Beautiful Marilyn Monroe and was themed around her enigmatic persona. It featured the Ladies & Gentlemen of the Crystal Ensemble of Singers and Dancers along with Vocalists Sarah Hayes and Jonathan Hawkins, World Cruise Hostess Stacey Huston, Dancers Curtis and Beverly and the very talented musicians of the Galaxy Orchestra.
Each of these performers is absolutely amazing.

To his right Assistant Cruise Director who is also a pianist is Scott Mitchel.
Cruise Director Gary got into the act in a dress.
He handed out baloons to two gentlemen in the audience and asked each one to inflate them but not too too large while Keith held Gary's hand held microphone so he had two hands to manipulate the balloons under the top of his dress. As they say, the rest is history.
We had an absolutely amazing evening and want to thank the entire Crystal Cruises Entertainment and Food & Beverage Management team for making this one of those evenings that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
We slept well last evening as we are now sailing to our next port of call; Devil's Island. We continued to sail the Amazon River.
Keith was up first which is no surprise and once again enjoyed a workout at the Fitness Center. Afterwards, it was coffee at the Lido Cafe where he read and wrote, and spoke with some of the members of the Lido Deck Team and a few fellow guests and friends.
Anne Marie was up next and walked for an hour inside the ship before we had breakfast in our room thanks to Rao. We watched the Daily Morning Show with Stacey and Gary and they had Golf Pro John Clark on the show.
During Captain Giske's 9:00 AM talk from the bridge he noted that the laundry rooms washing machines were all ready for use which for many was good news. He also said that when we are in Devil's Island tomorrow that another ship will be in port with us.
Keith took a morning indoor cycling class which was taught by Fitness Instructor Leanne. The class was full and Leanne pushed us everyone hard which Keith appreciated. while Anne Marie was in Yoga.
Keith would have played Paddle Tennis later in the morning but it was raining and Anne Marie skipped Knitting as she is still congested and just did Knitting in our room.
As this was a sea day there were three lectures and we watched them later on the day when they were rebroadcasted.
The lectures included:
Michael McManu who spoke about Kidnapped, Every Family's Nightmare.
Ken Rees who spoke about Devil's Island. He spoke about the history of the French Prison and how it made the name Papillon famous.
In the afternoon, Cheri Steinkellner spoke about writing the broadway musical, Tales from the Script.
After a busy morning, we both had salad entree at the Lido Cafe.
It was raining very hard during lunch so Keith could not play paddle tennis so he worked out on the Elliptical Machine while he watched Michael McNanu's lecture. Anne Marie walked for an hour inside the ship.
Later in the afternoon, while Anne Marie worked on her knitting, Keith met up with dear friend Bob and a couple of other friends.
All in all another great day on the Serenity.
This evening we will dine at Silk Road.
