We enjoyed another wonderful evening on Crystal Serenity. The evening attire was Black Tie Optional.
We had a pre-dinner drink at the Avenue Saloon where we sat with dear friends John and Linda.
Afterwards, we dined at Prego which is the Italian Specialty Restaurant. We were taken care of by the wonderful wait staff of waiter Marija, Head Waiter, Mario, and Specialty Restaurant Maitre d' Antonio.

We began our meal with appetizers and both were the additional items.
Keith had the Tuna Carpaccio. On the regular menu there is Carpaccio of Black Angus Beef which Keith had never tried so he decided to try the Tuna. It was delicious. He doesn't think he'll have the beef appetizer but was glad that he had the Tuna.
Anne Marie Chicken Ravioli as her appetizer which could be ordered as an entree or appetizer. She thought it was very tasty.
For our second course we each had salads.
For our entree Keith had the Striped Bass (photo below) and Anne Marie had the Veal Scaloppine al Limone.
For dessert it was Blueberries for Anne Marie and Mixed Berries for Keith.
We do plan to return to Prego in two nights which closes out this segment of the World Cruise. Since Marija and Mario will be leaving to go on well deserved vacations we decided to go for their "farewell dinner" and most importantly to thank them for all of the wonderful dinners we have had in Prego. They will both be returning for the start of the Lisbon to Rome cruise which will be our last cruise of this journey.
The rest of the evening also included the Captain's Cocktail Reception which was held between main (early) and late dining to accommodate as many guests as possible.
A highlight of the evening was the concert called My Life: The Music of Billy Joel. It is a fantastic concert with tunes that are familiar to most people.
As usual, we slept very well. The seas were relatively calm but there was enough rocking of the ship to make it relatively easy to fall asleep.
Keith was up first and enjoyed a nice a workout at the Fitness Center. Since we had set the clocks back one hour before going to sleep last night it made waking up a breeze. On the next segment of the World Cruise as we sail from Fremantle, Australia onto Africa we will continue to set the clocks back several times. It is so nice to circumnavigate the globe in this direction.
After Keith's workout, he went to the Lido Cafe for coffee and to read and write. Anne Marie then went on a one hour walk inside the ship until it was time for breakfast.
We arrived to Albany, Australia just a few minutes after our scheduled arrival of 8:00 AM this morning. This is not only our first time being to this city but also the maiden port of call for Crystal Cruises.
It is not pronounced like the Albany, New York but rather the Al is like in a the name of a man spelled Al.
The overall population is around 30,000 people. Albany is a port city in the Great Southern region of Western Australia and is located 259 miles from Perth which is the state capital. Albany was founded in 1826 as a military outpost of New south Whales as part of a plan to forestall French ambitions in this region.
Although there was a complimentary shuttle into town we decided to walk to and from town.
The day began with overcast skies but in time changed to sunshine with a high of around 75 degrees fahrenheit.
The down is quaint and easy to navigate. There were many locals who engaged us in conversation and were very friendly and informative about their town. There are many churches of various denominations all around the town as well as stores, restaurants, cafes and other establishments.
As we walked around we ran into several fellow guests and also many members of the crew.

While we were walking around we saw dear friend Bob from a distance but since he was busy speaking with someone at the information booth we didn't get a chance to speak with him.

On our return to the Cruise Ship Berth, we ran into Guest Speaker Howard Fineman and his lovely wife from MSNBC and The Huffington Post.
Shortly after we returned to the Ship we had lunch at the Lido Cafe and as we normally do we made salad entrees.
Afterwards, Keith played Paddle Tennis for a couple of hours and Anne Marie walked for an hour and also did laundry of the items that we will wear when we go on the overland safari later this month.
Later in the afternoon, Keith met up with dear friend Bob while Anne Marie worked on her knitting projects.
This evening we are back at the Crystal Dining Room for dinner.
