DAY 86 AT SEA & DAY 78 CRYSTAL SERENITY

Late night we went to the Crystal Cove before dinner.

While we were in the Cove we stopped by to speak with both Paula Jean and Daniele who are the on-board sales consultants about World Cruise 2018.  Normally, only one of them would be on board at at a time, with Daniele coming on board in a few days in Fremantle/Perth and then Paula Jean going over to the Symphony.  However, with the 2018 World Cruise just announced and anticipated high demand the two of them are on board together along with two people from Crystal Cruises Los Angeles Headquarters to work with the guests as they choose from the four World Cruise 2018 itinerary options available for World Cruise 2018.

While in the Crystal Cove, we also chatted for awhile with Vice President of Crystal Cruises Food & Beverage Department, Toni Neumeister about what else, food.  Toni will be on board Serenity for a few more days.

Afterwards, it was back to the Crystal Dining Room for dinner.

We began our meal with appetizers.

Head Waiter Augusto made Keith Tuna Tartare and Anne Marie had Shrimp Cocktail.  Keith enjoyed the taste of the Tuna Tartare that Augusto prepared and Augusto kept it cooler in temperature as he believes it adds to the overall consistency and taste of it.

For our next course we each had salads.

Keith had his standing order salad.

Anne Marie had the Baby Spinach Salad which with Sun Dried Tomatoes, Broiled Egg, and Eggplant Chips.  It's a terrific salad.

For our next course we both had the Seafood Paella which included Saffron Rice Dish, Assorted Seafood, Chorizo, Peas, Sweet Peppers, as well as Tomato, Olives and Onions.  Anne Marie had it prepared without the Peppers.

This is an entree that we normally don't have as we typically have our seafood a lot plainer but after speaking with Head Waiter Augusto we decided to go with this entree although it was very tempting to have ordered the Sea Bass.  We were very pleased with the entree.  It had a nice mix of seafood and the saffron rice while something we normally avoid was delicious.

For dessert, it was Melon for Anne Marie and Mixed Berries for Keith.

We left Adelaide at approximately 9:00 PM.  The good news is that before going to bed we turned the clock back 90 minutes.

We slept very well last evening as the seas gently rocked us to sleep.  It was very easy to wake up given that we had turned the clocks back.

Keith was up first and back to the Fitness Center for his workout and then over to the Lido Cafe for coffee and to read and write.  Anne Marie was next and walked for an hour inside the ship before we had breakfast.

This was the first of a couple of sea days as we are sailing to Albany, Australia.  As such there was lots on the program.

This included three lectures:

Destination Lecturer Ken Rees spoke about Perth and Western Australia.  As he always does, he provided a wealth of information, with humor, and also gave ideas on what to do in Perth.

Shortly after Ken spoke, Howard Fineman spoke about the President he has known and as he said up close and personal.  This included both President Bush's, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.  He also took about fifteen minutes in a Question and Answer session and was very candid in answering the questions.  Keith attended his presentation.

In the afternoon, John Frost who is a Tony Award Theatre Producer spoke about his life with the stars.

In addition to the 50+ activities, late this evening a battle of the sexes trivia night has been scheduled.  And let's not forget the there is a tour of the galley too in the afternoon.

At 9:00 AM, Keith attended an Indoor Cycling Class which was taught by Fitness Director Leanne.  The class was great and Leanne challenged us which Keith thought was great.

At the same time Anne Marie attended Yoga which was taught by Yoga Instructor Maria with assistance from her husband Joe.

Later in the morning, Anne Marie attended the Knitting Class.

We had lunch at the Lido Cafe and as usual we each had Salad Entrees.

In the afternoon Anne Marie walked for an hour.

Keith was not sure what it would be like to play Paddle Tennis today as it seemed overcast, and windy.  However, a short while after he started to play the ship was relatively calm and it was sunny and he enjoyed several games and a lot of good laughs.

Later in the afternoon Keith met up with dear friend Bob and a couple of other fellow guests and Anne Marie continued working on her knitting.

This evening we will be back at the Crystal Dining Room for the third consecutive night.
