We began our evening with a pre-dinner drink at the Crystal Cove. Once again, we sat with Olga.
Afterwards, we dined at Prego with Cruise Director Rick.
This was our final dinner at Prego until we return later in July.
We were taken excellent care of by the entire Waitstaff team including Specialty Restaurant Maitre d; Slavko, Head Waiter Mario and Waiter Costa.
We began with Salads.
Anne Marie had the Caesar Salad and Keith had his standing order salad from the dining room.
Anne Marie had the Veal Parmigiana as her entree and Keith went with the Bronzino. He also had his usual side order of Grilled Vegetables.
The evening entertainment was the wonderful production show called My Life: The Music of Billy Joel.
We slept very well as we sailed to our next port of call Sorrento, Italy. Our first visit to Sorrento was our first time on Crystal Serenity in 2005 and our most recent visit was an overnight in May of last year.
Keith was up first and enjoyed a terrific workout at the Fitness Center. After having coffee at the Lido Cafe, he brought a cup back for Anne Marie who walked for an hour before we had breakfast in our room. Keith also returned back to the Fitness Center and while there watched the arrival of the Silversea Spirit Cruise ship with two other ships already anchored off port. He took these photos after his workout.
Silversea Spirit
Two Ships and from L-R; Albatros and Afgean Odyssey.
The Albatros used to be part of Royal Viking.
After breakfast, we continued to packing then later in the morning we met Head Waiter Augusto. Awhile back we mentioned to Augusto that we would like to take him for lunch in Sorrento (Augusto is from Italy but has lived in Norway with his wife and children for quite sometime). The three of us took a tender over to Sorrento.
We walked around the town, including the charming town square, for a little while before having lunch.
After we took the tender, rather than take the shuttle or the elevator to the top we walked several flights of stairs. Good idea. Because we had a big lunch.
We walked through this place and later came back when Anne Marie and Augusto each had a Gelato.
All food in Italy is enormous. LOL, but so very true.
This is where we had lunch.
We ate outside.
The owner of this restaurant and a much more formal restaurant next door. Augusto has known him for many years.
The two of us shared this local beer although Keith had most of it. Before the beer we had a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and after the meal we had a small glass of Lemonchello
We began the meal with three appetizers:
Fried Anchovies.
Fried Zucchine.
Cappers with three types of cheeses. Yummy. Very fresh. Very Italian
Keith had the Margarita Piza with Cherry Tomatoes. Anne Marie had the same but with regular Tomato Sauce and Augusto had Pasta with Clams.
We also finished the meal with Prawns and Salad.
We ran into several familiar crew members at lunch and on the way back to the Tender.
Maitre d' Mario.
Head Waiter Giuseppe
Senior Head Waiter Carmelo.
Production Manager Brian.
Weather was absolutely a delight as was the lunch and the company.
When we got back to Serenity Anne Marie walked for an hour and Keith worked out at the Fitness Center.
This evening we will be back at the Crystal Dining Room.
TODAY'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY.......
“We are far better off when we listen to each other when having meaningful discussions rather than talking over one another” - Keith and Anne Marie
