DAY 140 SEA DAY & 132 ON CRYSTAL SERENITY

Before dinner last evening we had pre-dinner drinks with dear friends Linda and John at the Avenue Saloon.  It was very quiet, as many guests were on tours in St. Thomas or just out and about.

Anne Marie with Nat.  One of the canapés for the evening were sliders.

The same carried over as we dined at the Crystal Dining Room.  It was fairly quiet.  Also, some people were likely dining at the various specialty restaurants.

Anne Marie with Sommelier Ivanna.

Anne Marie had the salmon and Keith had Halibut which Head Waiter Augusto ordered for him.  Augusto always thinks Keith should eat more so he ordered him not one but two filets.  The Halibut was fresh having just come on board the day before in Barbados.

We slept very well last evening as we are now sailing to Miami, Florida which will mark the end of World Cruise 2015 and the start of the Miami to Lisbon Voyage.

To no surprise, Keith was up first and enjoyed his workout at the Fitness Center.  He was not alone today.  When he first arrived, Terry, who is one of the regular indoor cyclists was already working out.  Terry told Keith he couldn't sleep and while it is not often that he is up at the Center at the same time as Keith from time to time he is.  Keith did his workout in phases as he was doing Laundry so he first did 45 minutes and then went to put the wash in the dryer and then went back to the Fitness Center for another 45 minutes.  By this time another passenger that Keith knows was doing weights as he alternates each day between weights and a stationary bike.  After Keith hung up everything from the dryer he was back for a third workout and by then a woman who Keith knows had begun her routine which includes weights, stretching and around 4 hours (yes 4 hours) on a stationary bike.

We have not yet seen the Movie Jersey Boys (we have seen the play on Broadway) and it was playing on the channel that shows movies so Keith was watching part of the movie while working out.  They did show it on the ship in the theatre but we just haven't made it to any of the movies.  When we get home that is one of the first movies we will watch.

After all of the workouts, it was coffee at the Lido Cafe where Keith also read and wrote.

After Anne Marie enjoyed the coffee Keith brought back to the room for her, she walked for one hour.  Keith went back to the Fitness Center for another workout.

As usual, we had breakfast in our room and watched the Daily Morning Show as we got ready for another day at sea.  During the show Gary announced that the boxing event will be shown this evening in everyone stateroom and also in the Stardust Lounge and that the Kentucky Derby would be on Television as well.

Today is the first of two consecutive sea days as we make our way to Miami, Florida.  There is a lot planned for these two final sea days.

There was a lot on the schedule including two lectures.

This included:

Tom Macan who spoke about the Baltic States.

Thomas Lippman who spoke about Saudi Women Break Out.

Keith played Paddle Tennis for a couple of hours in the morning.  He's been having a great time with all of the people who are playing.

Afterwards, he ran a few errands including making one final review of a World Cruise Photo Book that we have purchased from the Photo Department and also he spoke with one of the  representatives from the Luggage Concierge company that is on board.

Anne Marie went to Yoga but then passed on going to the Knitting Class.

We ate lunch at the Lido Cafe and made our usual salad entrees.

Keith returned back to the Paddle Tennis courts for more tennis in the afternoon.  He played with the usual "suspects".  He is really enjoying playing with so many people he has met during this cruise and with the World Cruise winding down he wanted to spend as much time with his Paddle Tennis friends as possible.

Anne Marie walked for one hour inside the ship and then she worked on her Knitting.

Later in the afternoon he met up with dear friend Bob.

This evening we decided to dine at Prego rather than the Crystal Dining Room.  Originally,  we were going to dine at Prego last evening and then the Crystal Dining Room tonight.  We had cancelled the Prego reservation for last evening figuring the Crystal Dining Room would be quieter with people off the ship and also getting in last meals at places such as Prego and that turned out to be correct.  Since this evening is a Black Tie Optional night we thought that the Dining Room would be very busy, so we made a reservation for Prego for this evening instead.  We will post all about this tomorrow.

TODAY'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY.....

“Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm ... As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.” -  Audrey Hepburn
