The colorful buildings are typical of Bermuda as are the white roofs. The roofs play a key role to catch the water which is then taken from the roof by PVC down to a storage tank so that the water can be used for water for the home. Should there be insufficient water from the rainfall, then water will come from a water truck.

There are so many nice beaches in Bermuda. Our favorite is Horseshoe Bay Beach which we did not get to see yesterday.

This is the Celebrity Summit and the NCL Breakaway.
During the Bermuda Season each ship makes a weekly run between NYC (NCL) and New Jersey (Celebrity) and Bermuda.
We wanted to share some additional information that we learned on tour yesterday; some of which represents change but other things that have not changed.
You won't see fast food chains in Bermuda such as McDonald's as you do in many places around the world as they are prohibited.
You cannot rent cars in Bermuda, but only mopeds. This is not only for safety but also to limit the number of large vehicles on the road.
The height of commercial office space in Hamilton, Bermuda can now be 10 floors. This is because space is limited and many companies desire to be located in Hamilton.
It used to be that cruise ships could not be in port on the weekends, so that it was less crowded in places such as Hamilton for the locals. That is no longer the case as tourism is so very important to the economic well being of Bermuda.
Most stores are now open on Sunday's as this is now permitted. Sunday had been a time for many of the locals to go to Church but again for reasons of the economy this too has changed from the time when stores would be closed. Also, while part of England in many ways Bermuda takes it queue from the United States given our proximity to Bermuda and the number of Americans who visit Bermuda regularly.
To us, Bermuda still has retained many of the characteristics that we were impressed with on our first visit in 1977. It is a beautiful Island (well islands), the people are very and well spoken, it has many pristine areas including some beautiful beaches, and it has a lot of charm to it including both commercial buildings, places of worship and residential homes.
Before dinner we stopped by Prego to speak with Specialty Restaurant Maitre d' Antonio and Head Waiter Slavko about an upcoming reservations and we caught a moment with Butlers Rao and Jijo who were there making reservations for some guests of theirs.
Before dinner last evening we had a pre-dinner drink at the Crystal Cove. We sat with Jack and Bernice who we first met on World Cruise 2007 and then the following year when Serenity stopped at Maui they hosted a lunch for us and a few other friends. This was the first time we saw them since that time. It was great to catch up with them.
We had dinner at the Crystal Dining Room. This was our third consecutive night there.
It was quieter than usual as some people were eating in town, and t about 150 guests were on shore excursions getting back to the ship later in the evening and others were dining at specialty restaurants.
It is nice when the dining room is quiet.
We each had salads and we each had the swordfish that was on the menu with the only difference that Keith had his butterfly style.
Anne Marie had a Spinach Salad.
When Augusto requested Butterfly Swordfish he ordered some additional fish for Keith. Keith didn't ask for the additional fish but Augusto thinks he should eat more food.
Anne Marie had the Swordfish as it was prepared and featured on the menu.
After dinner we watched the local show which had one person playing local music for us. The music is more in line with what you would hear in the Caribbean and we remember hearing similar music when we were in Bermuda for our Honeymoon.
Mind you this is not our type of music but after all we are in Bermuda and that's what the local shows are all about.
We remained anchored off of Bermuda so there was no rocking of the ship but we both slept very well.
We began the morning as we normally do.
Keith was up first and enjoyed another one of his workouts at the Fitness Center. He followed this with coffee at the Lido Cafe where he read and wrote. On the World Cruise there were other early birds to the Cafe with a few people arriving about 15 minutes after Keith arrived and then about thirty minutes later dear friend Linda would arrive and around the same time a couple would arrive and they would sit at a table right near Keith with Reverend Ed and his wife Ruth. On this voyage it is pretty much just Keith along with some of the Lido Deck Stewards such as Nat.
After Anne Marie had coffee back at the room, she went on her one hour walk inside the ship and around the time she finished we had breakfast.
Although we had another full day in Bermuda with Serenity not scheduled to depart until 6:00 PM today, we decided to stay on the ship. If we were docked we would have definitely gone off the ship for part of the day, but we just didn't want to spend the time tendering back and forth keeping in mind that the tenders ran every two hours. Unfortunately, it is not possible for Serenity to dock in downtown Hamilton given the length of the ship and the area where you can dock is very far from places such as Hamilton. We also have spoken about spending a week in Bermuda so with that in mind we will plan to spend time there as part of a land vacation.
So, we just made today a sea day and since we were anchored and not docked it was even more literally a day at sea.
Keith went back to the Fitness Center. Anne Marie began making lists of what we will take with us when we spend a few days in Rome after we depart Serenity and what items we will ship home. Keith also met up with a couple of guests and a few members of the Serenity on board team.
We had lunch at the Lido Cafe and made our usual Salad Entrees. We were joined at lunch by Cruise Director Rick and also by former Captain Glenn who is hosting this 25th Anniversary Captain's Cruise.
Keith's plan was to play Paddle Tennis in the afternoon, but a few minutes before we had lunch the weather didn't cooperate as it began to rain so it was not possible to play Paddle Tennis. Instead, Keith went back to the Fitness Center for another workout.
At the same time, Anne Marie walked for an hour and we both read, wrote and worked on her Knitting Projects.
This evening we will be dining with others at Prego.
