We enjoyed our final night of World Cruise 2015 on board Crystal Serenity.
With Anne Marie still a little under the weather we decided it best to stay in our room and enjoy a quiet evening and that included dinner in our room.
There was the World Cruise Farewell with the Balloon Drop.
We slept very well as we made our way to the Port Of Miami. While Keith was working out early in the morning he could watch our arrival as we made our way up the Miami Harbor. We were docked by around 4:30 AM. These are photos two hours later.
During the last segment of the World Cruise we sailed from Rio De Janeiro to Miami for a total of 5,772 Nautical Miles or a distance of 6,638 Land Miles.

During the World Cruise:
91,682 Cookies were eaten
250,200 Fresh Eggs were consumed
11,075 Pounds of Ice Cream were eaten (none by Keith)
12,200 Pounds of Tenderloin were eaten
4,200 Pounds of Lamb Rack were eaten
14,300 Pounds of Whole Chicken were eaten (we ate some)
16,420 cans of Cola were consumed (we had some)
115,900 Liters of Sparkling and Still Water were consumed (we had some)
36,450 bottles of wine were consumed (we had some wine too)
32,100 rolls of Toilet Tissue were used (ok, we used this too)
We sailed a total of 32,833 Nautical Miles
A total of 14,990,450 Gallons of Portable Water were used. (yes we contributed to this)
We have no idea if all of this is 100% accurate but it does make for interesting reading.
Keith made his usual stop to the Lido Cafe. It was busier than usual that time of the morning with guests getting ready to depart Serenity. He spoke with several members of the crew. Some are going home today such as Lido Steward Nino.
After Anne Marie had coffee, she walked inside the ship for about 45 minutes. Keith went back up to the Fitness Center where he spoke with fellow passenger and friend Mark. Since Mark wasn't scheduled to leave the ship until later in the morning he got in one more workout. We both know Mark from previous sailings and he was in most of the spin classes with Keith. We will sail again with Mark next year when we sail the Northwest Passage.

We had breakfast in our room and then we got ready so that we could walk into Miami. Friend Ilene came by to say goodbye to us and she gave us a couple of battery candles which was very sweet of her. As we made our way off the ship we saw dear friends John and Linda and wished them the very best and we saw some other friends who were waiting for their vehicles to take them to the airport or hotels.
We walked across the bridge over to a pharmacy across the street from Bayside and then we went to Bayside. While we were out we spoke with our son by phone.

We returned to the Cruise Ship terminal a couple of hours later and we waited until in transit guests such as ourselves were permitted back on the ship. While we were waiting we spoke with other friends who are also in-transit guests and we also spoke with our daughter by phone.
There was an array of drink and snacks set up at the terminal for the in-transit guests and those passengers who were beginning to arrive around the time we were permitted back on Serenity.
Boarding for new guests is usually at 12:00 PM. However, new guests were advised several months ago that boarding would be at 2:00 PM. This was done for several reasons including extra time needed to do an extensive cleaning of the rooms since they were occupied for several months, work to put things back in rooms that might have been removed for the World Cruisers such as for some of the solo guests one of two bed that some had removed, a possible Coast Guard Inspection and also a fairly large turnover of crew. Rather than open the Crystal Dining Room for lunch, lunch was served in Tastes and The Trident Grill.
We opted to have lunch in our room instead.
We had a surprise visit by Cruise Director Rick, who just came on board earlier today.

Later in the afternoon, we attended a Wedding Ceremony for friends Ashley and Kelly. In fact, Ashley came by our room a little before the ceremony began. While they were officially married on land, this ceremony was held in one of the four largest suites on Serenity so that selected friends and family could attend. It was so nice to meet members of their family and many of their other friends.
This evening we will be dining at Silk Road.
We wanted to close with some thoughts about the World Cruise.
In short, this has been a fantastic World Cruise.
It is hard to believe that the 108 Day 2015 World Cruise has come to an end. It has been an amazing journey/adventure
as we have circumnavigated the Southern Hemisphere, and seen so many
interesting and diverse areas around the world. We have experienced so very
much during the World Cruise both on land and on-board Crystal Serenity.
One
of the items that is striking is that long after we have left a particular area life will
continue in the same way we experienced it, with each passing minute, hour,
day, month and years to come. For example, in South Africa the wild animals will continue to roam the
public parks and private reserves and people will come to visit to see this for themselves. In Te Puia, New Zealand the geysers
will continue to erupt spontaneously throughout each day. Each evening, people will perform the
Tango in Buenos Aires, and people will fish for their own meals in
Madagascar. For us, seeing all of
this through our very own eyes rather than say watching television is so very meaningful and we are thankful
for the opportunity to travel. We have continued to learn so much from our travels when in port and the on board lecturers augment this with lots of

When a World Cruise comes to an end, we have mixed emotions. We realize that all good things have a start and an end to them. We think the most emotional aspect marking the end of the World Cruise is that for 108 days we have been sailing with 600 or so of the same guests and a large number of crew and never again will all the same people who comprised our little village be on board Crystal Serenity on another adventure.
