DAY 61 PAPEETE, TAHITI & DAY 53 CRYSTAL SERENITY

Before dinner last evening, we were back at the Crystal Cove to listen to John Mentis perform.  We sat with dear friend John and Linda.

Afterwards, we were back at the Crystal Dining Room for the second night in a row.

We had spoken with Head Waiter, Bojan, after looking at the menu for this evening.  We thought we would try something other than fish for our entree, and Bojan made some suggestions and was also going to consult with the chef as well about some of the items that would accompany the entree.

We began our meal with a Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail for Anne Marie and Bojan made Tuna Tartare for Keith table side.

We each had a salad for our next course.

These are the side order of vegetables we had.  Instead of Asparagus we substituted sautéed mushrooms.

Bohan special ordered us our entree.

We each had Veal Scallopini with Artichoke Ragout and this was a very tasty entree.  And Marie had the Angel Hair Pasta and Keith and the Gluten Free Pasta.

For dessert, we both had Honeydew.

After dinner, we walked around the ship where we saw good friends Allan & Helen and spoke with them for awhile.

We slept well again last evening as we were making our way to Papeete, Tahiti.

Keith was up first and enjoyed a wonderful workout at the Fitness Center.  Afterwards, he was back at the Lido Cafe for coffee and he read and wrote before he brought coffee back to the room for Anne Marie.  Anne Marie walked for an hour before we had breakfast.  A view of the beautiful sunrise, while Keith was having coffee at the Lido Cafe.

Keith led a Spin Class of some of the fellow guests who have been regularly attending the spin class.  We plan to do this again in two days.

Keith spent a few minutes having everyone stretch before they started to spin.

We arrived to Papeete, Tahiti at around 11:00AM.  The city of Papeete has a population of around 25,000 residents.  Papeete is the Capital of the French Polynesia.  It is located on the island of Tahiti which is part of the Society Islands.  The islands of Tahiti and the French Polynesia collectively total 118 islands.  Many of these islands are very small and are uninhabited

We have been here many times so we didn't plan any tours  These are some photos from the area relatively close to the pier.

In the afternoon, Anne Marie walked around the ship for an hour and Keith played Paddle Tennis for a couple of hours.    We both read and wrote and Anne Marie continued to work on her projects.
Keith also met up with dear friend Bob.

This evening we have been invited by Andy and Ilene to attend a major major milestone Birthday for Ilene at Silk Road.

  1. Hi Keith and Anne Marie. enjoying your blog again this year. I find it funny that when your voyage starts, I read your update before I go home from work. then as you sail west, I check out the update on my ipad before I go to bed. Then, I have to wait until morning, like today, as you sailed to Papete. Soon it will something I read over lunch!

glad you are both feeling better!
