DAY 57 AT SEA & DAY 49 CRYSTAL SERENITY

We are posting photos of Easter Island that dear friends Bob and Glo and Allan and Helen provided to us.

These are a few photos that Keith took from Serenity.

We are also posting photos from three fantastic dinners we had at Prego and at the Crystal Dining Room.  One night just the two of were in Prego and we had the special seafood entrée which was King Flip with Herb Crust, over pasta with a red tomato sauce and spinach, small shrimp, scallops and calamari, and the second night was Swordfish in the Crystal Dining Room.  Last night we had dinner at Prego with good friends Bill and Sandra who we first me on the 2007 World Cruise and sat with them for two segments of that World Cruise at a table for six and since then have been on several World Cruises with them.

There was a lot of glare when the photos was taken as we are in the process of moving back the clocks four hours on four consecutive days.  With Sandra and Bill.

With several of the Lido Deck Stewards who we think represent the heart and the pulse of Serenity.

Before going to sleep we set the clocks back one hour for the second of what will be four consecutive nights.  The seas were relatively calm.

Keith was up even earlier than normal given the time changes.  In addition to working out he wanted to see what the internet performance was like. Fortunately, all was good with the internet so Keith could work on the Blog and also get caught up with e mail.

Today is another sea day as we sail to our next port of call.

There was lots on the program.  This included three lectures;

Anthony Terry spoke about the new world and how the New World became named after an obscure Florentine navigator.

Dr Melvyn Bowen spoke about Captain Bligh and Mr Christian including providing an overview of the events that led up to the Bounty Mutiny.

In the afternoon, Dr Tom Jones spoke about the threat to the Earth from rogue asteroids.

In between all of this, Keith led one other in Spin which he also did yesterday.   Anne Marie finds that if she talks to much she starts to cough a lot so she continued to spend more time in the room and less in public areas.  There are several variations of the upper respiratory viruses that were going arounds.  For some people it has taken a lot longer to recover than others.  The good news is we are are excellent hands on board Serenity with the wonderful Crystal Crew taking good care of us.

The theme for today is Pirates on the Serenity.  From 11:15 AM until Noon there was a mixer at the Crystal Cove with this theme and this evening there will be two performances of a show that was prepared just for this one time only with this theme in mind.

He also played Paddle Tennis for a couple of hours.  It was fairly warm but as usual he had a lot of good laughs and enjoyed the camaraderie.  He also met up with dear friend Bob in the afternoon.

This evening we will be dining at the Crystal Dining Room.
