We had an early dinner at Perricone's last evening which is the Italian Restaurant which we ate at our first night after arriving to Miami.
We included photos of some of the rooms at the restaurant and also views where you can see that there is no roof overhead. We were decked out in red for the Miami Heat Game.
We each had two courses and began with a simple house salad.
For our entree we each had the Yell Fin Ahi Tuna Steak, which was accompanied was accompanied by a sauce along with a starch and grilled asparagus and we thought was very tasty.
After finishing dinner, we walked over to Bayside which is a two level building with stores and restaurants and on the way to the American Airlines Center. The walk is along the route that we take to get to the Port of Miami, and you just walk a little further and you are at the Center. These are a couple of photos from earlier in the day.
When we arrived it was already dark outside and areas at and near the arena were lit up for the holidays.

On our last several visits to Miami, we have tried to attend one Miami Heat game. This year we will actually attend two games with another game planned for Friday night. We are not Miami Heat fans but both enjoy basketball. Basketball was always Keith's favorite sport to play. His favorite team of all-time was the Boston Celtics starting in the era of Bill Russell, John Havlicek, Sam and KC Jones and several others, continuing to teams of Dave Cowens and Jo Jo White, continuing to teams of Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Robert Parish, Dennis Johnson, and Danny Ainge and then continuing with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen. He loved the team approach that each of those teams exhibited which is why they were largely successful.
As to the Miami Heat, when Keith coached our son Eric's basketball teams for a portion of those years they wore Miami Heat jerseys. Our son really liked Tim Hardaway and played the same position and wore the same number.
We had seats close to the floor. Even though we were very close to one of the baskets, we could still see both ends of the court well. Game began at 7:30 and we were seated at 6:45 but many were out and about making getting their food and drink.

As each player of the Miami Heat is introduced before the start of the game, the flames ignite to "Heat" up the arena.
Dwayne Wade a future Hall of Famer who has been part of each of the three Championships won by the Heat at the foul line getting ready to shoot.
Wade was at the foul line quite a lot last evening.

The past couple of years we saw some of the great Miami Heat teams with Lebron James, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade and Ray Allen and a solid supporting cast. Last evening, there was no Lebron as he is now back at Cleveland, Allen is sitting out the season and will either return to a contender later in the season or retire and Bosh was not playing as he is out with a recent injury.
The Heat ended up losing by 18 points. Utah successfully dominated at the three point line making many more three pointers than Miami. Dwayne Wade kept the Heat in the game at various times but the Heat was down for most if not all of the game. All in all it was a fun game and it's just nice to be able to see a game in person.
Before the game started and the players came out for warmups, some children from a Jewish School played a scrimmage with one another. During the halftime a very large menorah was lit for the second night of Chanukah. The halftime performance was song and dance performed by some of the people from a Jewish Synagogue who were in attendance. It was all very nicely done and quite enjoyable.
There were many lit Christmas Decorations to be seen on our way back to the hotel by foot.

As to our walking for the day we ended up walking 16.20 miles. We will not achieve this today as we will take a little break from all of the walking.
We got to sleep later than we normally do so we fell asleep relatively easily. We woke up a little later than normal. We followed our typical routine though with Keith up first followed later by Anne Marie. We had breakfast in the room and then got ready for another wonderful day and night in Miami.
We normally go to Coral Gables and/or Key Biscayne while in Miami but today decided just to take the type walk we have been doing since we arrived.
We first walked from the hotel of to the Port Of Miami. Along the way we continued to see a vast amount of construction that is taking place throughout the city.
On our way we passed the First Presbyterian Church.
As we arrived to the bridge that we needed to walk over, the draw bridge was opening to let a boat pass through.
The port was relatively quiet today with only one ship in port the Carnival Victoria.
We then proceeded over to Bayside with its many restaurants and stores. We went to a new store which opened last month. There are other stores in Florida and others in California called FIT2RUN. It has an excellent selection of items for runners from shoes to clothing to other accessories and we were able to find some socks for Anne Marie which we had been looking for prior to our arrival to Florida.
Anne Marie didn't have an Gelato but we took a moment to get a photo anyway.
On our way back to the Hotel we made a few other stops and then enjoyed salad entrees for lunch.
In the afternoon we walked over to the island where the Mandarin Oriental is located. We took a different route to change things up.
Everywhere you go, you see new construction such as the work taking place between these two buildings.

This is the bridge we walked in the past to get to Key Biscayne. We pick up this bridge around 1.5 miles from our hotel and then it is a rather long bridge. From there it is a few more miles to Key Biscayne.
For us this was a fun day. We have so much to look forward to after we board Serenity that we just enjoy these walks around Miami. We people watch and take in all of the scenery around us and we never run out of conversation. We hold hands and we just have a great time. Life is good.
This evening we will be dining at a restaurant where we have dined on two other previous visits to Miami and will post all about that tomorrow.
