DAY 5 - THIRD FULL DAY IN MIAMI

In case you wondered we ended up walking 17.70 miles yesterday, including our walk to and from the restaurant for dinner.

Speaking of dinner, last evening we dined at a restaurant called Crazy About You which was recommended by friend Kate.  It is located about 15 minutes from the Four Seasons Hotel by foot.   They have two other sister restaurants with on located in Miami about 10 minutes from the hotel and we have seen that several times before on previous visits Miami, but have not dined there yet.  It is called "Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita.  Their third location is located in Coral Gables is called "Love Is Blind".

We arrived earlier than our reservation and our hostess said that a nice area would be opening up if we just waited ten minutes so we took her advice.  We waited in the indoor lounge.

One Of Two Unique Photos In The Lounge

Seating is inside and outside and we chose to sit outside with the Biscayne Bay right behind us in this photo.  It almost looks like we are on a cruise ship somewhere in the ocean.

We each enjoyed two courses starting with salads.  Keith had a spinach salad and really enjoyed its taste with its combination of strawberries, avocado, cheese and of course the spinach.

Anne Marie had the Caesar Salad and also enjoyed the salad.

We each had the same entree which was a Florida Swordfish accompanied with Asparagus, Mushrooms and a very tasty sauce. We probably would have gone with less sauce if we were preparing the entree but nevertheless it was terrific.

It is not often that we dine outside and we enjoyed the ambience of sitting outside with the bay in perfect view.

This was something they place on the tables and we think it is very wise.

Speaking of cell phones you know how they say don't text and drive.  We certainly think that is wise.  We have noticed on our walks this time around that too many people walk and text and walk and do e mail.  Sounds good but they don't look up to see what is ahead of them,  and it is an accident that could easily happen.  So, our advice is don't walk and text or e mail.  You can walk and chew gum if you can.  LOL.

After dinner, we took a leisurely walk back to the hotel.  We spoke with our son, Eric, who had called us earlier and it was great to catch up with him by phone.  Anne Marie also texted with our daughter, Jennifer, earlier in the day.

This is yet another view from our room.  The pools are part of Four Seasons.  The one on the left is for those people who live in the condominiums and the pool on the right is for the Hotel Guests.

Back at the room, we enjoyed some fresh fruit and read, wrote and caught up with some news.  When you walk as much as we did, getting to sleep was relatively easy.  Why, because you are exhausted.  LOL.

Keith was the first one up as usual, and read and wrote.  A little while after Anne Marie woke, we enjoyed breakfast in our room.  We had and will continue to have the same breakfast this week of cereal and some fresh fruit.  Once on the ship, we will switch this over to oatmeal.  We try to keep the breakfasts on the healthy side.

An early view from the window of our room.

Another view from our room about 15 minutes after we took the first photo.

Originally, we were going to walk to Coral Gables but decided to not do that today.  Instead, we first walked over to the Port Of Miami.

This time there were three Cruise Ships in port.  The Regent Seven Seas Navigator.

And not Mickey Mouse as Anne Marie kiddingly said as we were walking across the bridge, but rather the Disney Wonder.

In addition this ship which does two night cruises was in port.

Later during our walk we happened to pass a billboard for this ship with pricing.

After crossing back over the bridge we walked to an area that we had not walked to before.

The area includes the Opera House and the Adrienne Artist Center. Keith had tried a couple of weeks ago to get tickets for the Nutcracker Ballet which is being performed at the Adrienne Theatre but unfortunately tickets were no longer available.

This is an area that also is home to several hotels.

On our way back we viewed one of the iconic downtown buildings.

This afternoon we went back out to go to a couple of stores to pick up some items for a few members of the crew for the Holidays.

We then relaxed back in our room.

This evening we will have an early dinner and then head over to the American Airlines Center to see an NBA (National Basketball Association) game featuring the Miami Heat play against the Utah Jazz.  We will Blog about this tomorrow.

Once again, we enjoyed another wonderful day in Miami and look forward to an enjoyable night at dinner, followed by the Basketball Game.

We are posting early and it is still the first day of Chanukah.  This is a Menorah which is in the lobby of our Hotel.  We send Happy Chanukah greetings to family and friends who are celebrating Chanukah.

TODAY'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY..........
