DAY 4- SECOND FULL DAY IN MIAMI

We enjoyed a very nice dinner in our hotel room last night.  We originally planned to dine at the Hotel Restaurant.  However, after a full day of walking around Miami we decided it would be more relaxing to eat in our room.  This will be one of two dinner's that we will have at the Hotel during this stay.

We receive a credit from our travel agency that can be used for lunch or dinner at the hotel so it makes sense for us to use it for dinner.  In addition, the hotel has provided us with a complimentary dinner related to our stay last year.  

We each began our dinner with salads and these were exceptional salads.  

Now for our entree, please use your imagination as we (Keith) forgot to take a photo of it.  We each had the Florida Snapper.  We are in Florida so that seemed to be appropriate, and it was accompanied with Grilled Asparagus.  We each selected different sauces for the entree; Anne Marie had a Lemon Butter Sauce and Keith had a Béarnaise sauce.  For dessert, you guessed.  We each had fruit.

It was easy to fall asleep last night after all the walking.  

We followed the same routine this morning as we do on the ship.  Keith was up first and read and wrote.

Keith also caught up on some news from this comfortable couch.

 Keith brought back some coffee for Anne Marie which is available in the Hotel Lobby.

Our room actually has a Cappuccino Machine with complimentary coffee but we both prefer the regular brewed coffee.  Now, if we had a Keurig Coffee Maker that would be a different story. 

We enjoyed breakfast in our room as we did yesterday and we had cereal and fresh fruit.  

As we ate breakfast, we enjoyed nice views of the sun rising from our room. 

We then got ready for our second full day in Miami.

We walked from the hotel over to the Intercontinental Hotel.  From there we took a Taxi over to South Beach.  We had the taxi driver drop us off at Ocean Drive and 5th  Street so that we could walk up this iconic area of South Beach with the beach on our right side and the art deco hotels on the left hand side.  

We then made it over to the boardwalk and we walked and we walked and we walked.

 We eventually made a left and then a right to go North on Collins until we came to the Fontainebleau Hotel which as a little boy Keith had stayed at a couple of different times with his family.

We then walked back the way we came but eventually we walked back over to Collins until we got to Lincoln Road.  We walked that area for awhile and portions of the road are closed to motor vehicles.  The middle areas tend to have restaurants.

We walked for a little longer and then we took a taxi over to the Intercontinental.  From there we walked back to the Four Seasons Hotel and making a stop to see the Reindeer and also a stop at the Publix Grocery Store to pick up salads for each of us.

After a short rest following lunch, we decided to take another walk and this time we walked over to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel once again.  We take a scenic route from our hotel where for most of the way we enjoy views of the bay.  We then walk over a bridge with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel directly in front of us.

The Mandarin Oriental is located on the island of Brickell Key.

We then enjoyed stunning views as we walked all around the area.  We do love to walk and it's just nice to sometimes take in all that is around you.  Sometimes, we all run too much that we fail to just take in those little and pleasant things in life.

We then continued walking and headed back to our hotel.

So, far we have walked 14.75 miles and as we mentioned yesterday was 15.80 miles.  As they say the night is young and we are walking to dinner later this evening so we will tally up the final miles when we post tomorrow.

This evening we will be dining at a restaurant that we will be trying for the first time.
